Are the races supposed to be equally balanced or do u find all races have an edge over each other?
For example Spawn > Greys > Marines > Machina > Spawn As a rough guide? Forgive the noobish question but its been years since I have played this. R.L.

People have different opinions on this one.
And another key point is that good play should be able to make up for any race disadvantages. But I'd say Marines are good against Spawn and Machina Greys are good against Marines Spawn are good against Greys Machina are ok against anything                  |

My very general and very rough impressions
 missile tanks pwn greys greys pwn marines and spawn marines can pwn anyone in right hands (but statistically have the worst win-lose ratio of the four) spawn need an element of surprise to pwn anyone (but stand a 50-50 chance vs mechs) Well-balanced match-ups: mechs vs spawn mechs vs marines EDIT: there are conflicting opinions on spawn vs greys, but I'm not sure if I've ever lost to spawn playing greys... i think the real point being pushed is all races have a strong suit, but on their day and in the right hands with the right setup are capable of beating each other.
as for spawn v grey dont be shy give it a try.. mr gay can hold his own against the pointy toothed squishy.        |

For me, I'd say that Spawn are in general weakest, with the other three being more or less equivalent. I think the balance is very good right now (Spawn slightly excepted). That said, loadouts are map-and points-level dependent as always, and strategies between the races will vary - as always you have to play to your strengths and make the most out of your opponent's weaknesses. So it's good to know each race inside and out.
If that knowledge is equal, then it comes down to who is better at playing the Almighty Server, and can out-think/out-psych their opponent.    DA's left nut |
