I think you will find the answer to this is a definate no. It's part of what keeps the game good is that there is a single server.

Good news, might give the game a bit more life, I know I might come back for the odd game every so often.

However, I guess it spells the end of any hope for future development.  As good as the game is, there are still bugs, things that could be added without destroying the game. new tile sets, ultra short game turns to fill that I want it now junkie mentality of the younger generation.

Any word on a sequal or similar new project? 

Have you considered a cash shop approach?  I know many hate them, mostly due to the "if I don't pay I can't compete" aspect that many early implementations had, but if done right it can work.  What if marines are free to play, and each other race costs a small one off price,  most will agree the races are well balanced, and there are some great players who only ever played marines.


One issue free to play brings is how will it impact the community?  The thing that kept LSN alive as long as it has is the community, barring the recent spam, look at the forums.   have you ever seen a question answered with "Use the search function you noob" or similar, even if the question is the same as the last post, people will still answer the question or link to the old post without resort to retarded comments.  I don't recall a flame war, or any other such rubbish ever happening.    Will the "opening up" of LSN impact the community?  without the community, LSN would probably have died years ago.

I think Brootal you are being a little negative - there may be some exciting ideas that a player-based admin can come up with, even if it is short of new tile sets.

Oh, I agree, I'm looking at the negative sides, this will certainly have a good impact at least short term, it depends what level of admin powers "we" get.
