Maps have a minimum size of 40x40 and a maximum of 60x60.
Try and avoid placing tiles where they overlap ie relay posts showing through a wall.

Avoid placing lots of exploding canisters in one area.
Every time I try to create or edit a map, it loads 'default'. If default doesn't exist, it creates a blank map called default. The only way to change the name of the map is to rename the .map and .ara files myself. How can I fix this?
All the maps are located in the ../Laser Squad Nemesis/Map directory. Find the two maps files and rename each the same. To avoid this for other new maps make sure you give the map a name when you create (there's a field to do this between tileset and map size).
Quick Tip
Give your map an short name that matches the theme. Remember LSN is a global game so try and avoid complex names or ones with spaces.

Firstly you need to get a screen shot of your map. The easiest way of doing this is to start a game on your map in Hotseat mode. Before your select a race zoom out of the map so that as much of it can be seen on your screen. Hit the "L" key to turn off the lighting effects and then use the Print Screen key on your keyboard to take a snapshot. Paste this into a graphics package (you may need to paste two or three screen shots and merge them together). Save as a JPG or GIF and upload into your or a friends some web space. Remember though the better the quality of the image the bigger the file size and the longer it will take to display on modem connections.
Secondly, start a poll in the Maps area. The title line has to be Map Name: Author: Size. In the message area give a description of your map and either insert the image direct or put a link to it. To give the best range of Poll options please select IN, BIN, AMEND MAP, AMEND DEPLOYMENT.
