I made this to help making screenshots for my MLSN game vs TOMU. (Well, I stole it from the web then changed it a tiny bit).
After you've pasted the screenshot into GIMP, it makes and saves thumbnail images like this (this example is from a different game) :


And also saves the full size ones too.
The left half is the 3D view, the right is 'plan' view.
It is not briliantly done, but it works.
To use it, save LSNThumbs.scm to your GIMP scripts directory. Then in GIMP, paste your plan view as the bottom layer and your 3D view as your middle layer, and put a transparent layer over them both. You can then add stuff (like I have in red in the pic above) to this transparent layer. Then have the middle, 3D layer selected.
Then, in GIMP, select Script-Fu, Web, thumbnail Generator2...
In the box that pops up, leave the size at '171' and ignore the 'Background Fill Colour'. Adjust the rest as needed. The files seem to be just saved to the default save location in GIMP.
