1. Playing a turn on another PC won't allow me to open the turn
If you have played a turn and want to play the next on a different PC then the second PC will have no knowledge of the rest of the game, so clicking play turn won't work. If you click Get Whole Game instead then it will rebuild the game and you'll be able to play the next turn. You'll need to do this each time you switch PC's.
2. I get an error message when trying to download a turn.
The most likely reason for this is that there are some turn files in your games folder, which should only contain games folders. These files will ned deleting before you will be able to open any further games. Do this by going to the following: My Computer, then Hard disk, Program Files, Laser Squad Nemesis, and finally Games. Then ignore any games folders, but delete any games files.
3. When I open an LSN turn it seems to download OK, but just shows up backgrounded on the task bar and I can't view the turn.
Right click on the LSN in the task bar and select maximise.
4. How do I play LSN on another LSNers PC?
You'll have to go to the PC client screen, enter your LSN name, password and email address, then make sure you click quit otherwise the chande details will not be remembered. Also you will not be able to just click play turn, but will have to get the wholegame for each different game you wish to look at.
5. I've played a turn and sent my orders but nothing has happened on the interface.
Make sure your player name, password (it's worth re-entering the password as you cannot see if it is correct or not) and email address are correct in the PC client, and press quit to ensure they are saved.
6. I use dial-up and have problems with the line disconnecting part way through a turn/don't wish to leave the line connected longer than necessary.
Don't worry if the internet connection fails, you don't have to start from scratch. Finish the turn as usual and then click send turn. Obviously this won't happen but the PC will remember you tried to send the orders. Then make a note of the game number, reconnect to the internet, go to the PC interface and click manage games and then resend orders. Enter the game number, click resend orders and the turn will have been sent.
7. I really wanted to look at a game I played, but it recently dropped off my played games list.
The server remembers games for a while after they drop off the played games list (I'm not sure how long - a couple of weeks?) Go to the PC client and to manage games and click get whole game - it will then be forwarded to the email address currently in the client.
8. I want to change the email address my turns are sent to.
Go to the PC client and simply change the email address shown, making sure you press quit to save the new details. This will then send any new turns to the new address.
9. I want to play a game against a friend on my computer, but not in hotseat.
This is possible, but depends on you both being careful. Basically every time you switch you have to remember not only to change all the details in the PC client, but also to click Get Whole Game every time, rather than play turn, otherwise you will see your opponent's units.
10. Boxed version won't play; "Client exe out of date"
If you have the demo installed this can apparently cause a problem..... just simply going to Start > All Programs > then running the UNINSTALL tool will NOT remove game to the point that the CD will work for you.
Follow the steps below...
Step 1) Open "My Computer", then open your C: drive, then open your "Program Files" folder and delete the folder called "Laser Squad Nemesis". (if you do not have this folder, proceed to Step 2)
Step 2) Install the game, run it, click on Non-Subscriber, that is where you set your user/pass and enter the code.
Step 3) Log in to the web interface and click "DOWNLOAD" to get the newest version of the exe
11. I click on Deploy from the web interface, but can't open the file directly or once saved to the desktop.
The LSN file is not associated with the lsn client exe:
Right click the LSN file and then choose open with...choose program, select LSN from the list. Tick always use this program - future LSN files should open ok
12. Problems caused by video cards.
Very limited knowledge on this one, but the 3d features on video cards can mess things up, most importantly the anti-aliasing. Try changing the anti-aliasing from the preset configuration to "application controlled". There are a lot of things to tweak in Catalyst that apply to software perfomance, but I'm not too knowledgeable on them... try having a tweak lol!
There are also a lot more problems answered on Count Zero's website. See his Bughunter page for further info!

Kind of makes my little post a tad unnecessary
