Posts: 3 10-Jun-07 06:26	Tags : None Hi, I downloaded the demo and enjoyed the sample mission. I purchased a boxed version at the store, which says it has all the campaign missions, plus a 3 month subscription. I have uninstalled the demo, and installed the boxed version. When I start the exe, it says "Client exe out of date. Please download newer version" I can't find how do to that on the website. The only downloads are the demo, or to buy the game.... which I should not have to do again. Also, the links from the boxed version install appear to be broken. Please advise! Btw: I REALLY don't like all this ezboard potential spam! I've had to turn down several offers, just to make this post. Based on the login experience, I wonder how many spammer lists it is going to put my email on...

Posts: 3 12-Jun-07 05:27	Hi Jaques, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have been to where the link you sent leads. Unfortunately, the only options are to purchase a new account. I have already purchased a physical boxed copy, which comes with a code. The code is supposed to give me 3 months subscription. The download area is for purchases only, there is no place to input a code. The game, once installed locally, will not run, and the internet links are all broken. Why do people use ezboard? There are plenty of free BBS systems out there...

Unfortunately, when I put in my information, this is what it says: This form is for players who already have LSN accounts FREE TRIAL ACCOUNT! You cannot use the retail version to upgrade a free trial account. You must use the standard retail registration form to create an account. I have to login to use the retail version. But I have to have purchased the online version to use the login? Screw this. LSN looks like fun but there's no @##% way I'm paying for it twice. I want MY MONEY BACK!

It will at least get you started whilst you wait for the method of using the codes to be sorted out. I remember that I could not upgrade the first (trial) account I had set, and had to read the booklet and follow the instructions in there to get those free 3 months. The booklet says how to use the free subscription, then you need the code therein, and the code needs to be unused. Maybe if someone still has the booklet around (I am afraid I dont, I moved in the meantime), they could have a look and see what you were supposed to do so you can try the code you have? Now ... those 3 months only granted me like my first 50 or 60 games maybe, that's what you lost if you cant figure this out, assuming you play hardcore. I already paid for 2 yearly subscriptions since then, and havent bought a single tactics/strategy game in that period ... Consider signing up anyway !!! Don't let a bad buying experience drive you away from the best game ever!

Posts: 18 28-Dec-07 20:42	Well, I'm trying to decide if I like this game that much or not. So far, I think it's good but it doesn't really fire me up the way Jagged Alliance and it's succesors did. But I've always been more of turn based guy, and more of a single player guy, so online play is new to me (and the learning curve is pretty steep). I admit that I agree with everyone that the single player missions aren't too much fun. I almost quit the game for good, but I got my online game going again, and although it looks like I'll be slaughtered, I am starting to learn a couple of things (I think). I know I've always wanted to better understand small unit tactics, and this seems like a good way to go. We shall see. Thanks for all the feedback. And, BTW, I've resolved the problem with getting 3.10 running, and the issue of the code that comes with the game is a done deal. I bought it on eBay for very cheap, so I'm not too worried about it. Posts: 6 29-Dec-07 16:35	I got my 3 months free from the boxed version and I didn't have much problem. Thing you have to do, though, is upgrade from the CD installation. This means that you lose the campaign missions. I had to buy the campaign missions seperately. But that only cost me 4.47. That, on top of the 5 I paid for the retail game, wasn't too bad (the game was old stock at a game shop and I haggled them down to a fiver )

The only way to get a user/pass is to re-purchase the game directly from the website... which I am not about to do. What is the purpose of selling games that you cant use? No response from their email support... what a disappointment.

My issue was that I had the DEMO installed, just simply going to Start > All Programs > the running the UNINSTALL tool will NOT remove game to the point that the CD will work for you. Follow the steps below... Step 1) Open "My Computer", then open your C: drive, then open your "Program Files" folder and delete the folder called "Laser Squad Nemesis". (if you do not have this folder, proceed to Step 2) Step 2) Install the game, run it, click on Non-Subscriber, that is where you set your user/pass and enter the code. Step 3) Log in to codo-linux1.bytemark.co.uk/LSN/login and click "DOWNLOAD" to get the newest version of the exe This may be common knowledge to the experience folks, but for novice users this was an extremelly annoying situation and caused me to waste several hours today. I hope this will help others in the future.
