You're absolutely right ... finnish looks and sounds VERY similar to Sindarin I thought that Tolkien only used a combination of old english (or gaelic) and aramaeic ... It was the founder of finnish literature that goofed it out from our language, since he didn't know any language with the "th", like english for instance. He did knew swedish, tough, and took the letter "d" from there in the literature to make up the missing "th". Slowly as the finnish people got more educated, and learned the difference between the spoken "th" and spoken "d", the "th" sound was to move out from the way of "d".
