And so, it happened! The Derby went excellent, there was a lot of rush, competition and sudden leader changes. out of 20 starting drones only half (10) enabled their Power Spheres, and only half of them (5) made it back to the finish. The drone on the lane number 13 died first and the drone with a name Luck of the Irish - won competition. That's truelly mistycal!

Let's go carefully through the whole race. On the beginning, the bowl-stage we have the standard situation - some of drones get through from the first bite, some need another one. Coming closer to the wall-area, the first line of Blood-defence, six drones are ahead of others and jump to the trees first. bugchen on lane #4 does the best perfomence and pulls out as a leader, but gets stuck with his next tree for the whole 10 seconds! Others use the moment and unexpectedly few drones: wet blanket, Smart Rodent and Prime Target rush in the leaders! The next barrier slows them down and many more drones have chance to catch up, but none can overtake wet blanket. This one flyes throughout the Barrel-Marsh and Rain of Spikes as insane, leaving everyone far behind. It reaches the trees of the second Blood-defence line first and kills the humanoid in fury. Smart Rodent, who is his main adversary has a chance to reach him with the red reacion mid-turn pause and also another drone, Fluffy catchs up with them. But unlike the wet blanket, both are shot off to the ground. It's a tough competition, not for kind and soft animals. The Fluffy dies before Smart Rodent, although this is not the first death of the race. Just a tiny 0.1 seconds before in the Rain of Spikes dies Dancing Dougal, the drone, whose master doomed him to run on the 13th lane. Looking into the future, it was actually the only drone not to reach the second line of Blood-defense. But let's get back to our race, Luck of Irish and Premium Orange reach the blood-line too just short after Fluffy's death (they're on lanes on the right and left of Fluffie's), while the glorious wet blanket is already near his controller. But guess what happens with those, who rush too far ahead? He gets shot in the back by the humanoid defenders of the adjoined tracks! Unlike Luck of Irish, whose adjoined defender is inactive after killing Fluffy. So, Luck of the Irish is now on its way back across the track, along the drones who yet just reached the barriers that Luck overcame long ago. Fortunately, non of the Spikes hits it and it makes to the safety first! What a good result. But let's not forget about others, there are also contenders for the 2nd and 3rd places. Three drones run 30 metres behind Luck, those are Dr Dribble on the 3rd lane, Galloping Gollop on the 10th lane and Prime Target on the 15th. They are galloping almost on the same level and only photo-finish could decide who of them is ahead. There's also another drone, Tony Adams just about 7m behind them. What happens? Suddenly and unexpectedly, all 3 marching-ahead drones die almost simultaneously in the Rain of Spikes, while Tony Adams gets through alive and gets the second place. What a race! Let us see, who is stil on the track. We have Buttercup and Jannock trotting through the Marsh, bugchen behind them troding on heels and Harold on the lane number 20 is still near his power sphere! While the leader, Luck of the Irish, already finished about 30 seconds ago, Harold is still on the "forward" part of the route. To this time, all Blood-defenders are either dead or inactive, most of Rain of Spikes ran out, so he can just joggle arround without much danger of side-shots. Unfortunately, this cannot be said about bugchen, who catches a spike in a leg. Finally, the Buttercup reaches finish 3rd, Janock - 4th and Harold - 5th, long after all others, but alive! This derby was about survival, not just about the speed.

That's it folks! Five winning drones form up on the finish stage and do some minor dancing, along with the buzzer-judges. The Derby is over.
