dramatic end to the last turn with a grenadier dying from goo, his final act being a last grenade launched about a millisecond before he pegged it!
I've got my queen in his base looking for trouble/bodies, and some Drones charging in. I keep remembering quotes from Aliens in this game, I must have seen the whole film in flashback by now! I'm currently seeing Ripley coming across the Queen laying eggs and pumping loads of grenades into them (bad), and that bit where the marines first get attacked and Hicks is shouting out "Marines! We are leaving!!" (good) Be nice if we could finish off with a showdown between the Queen and a grunt in an exoskelton thingy   |

the exoskeletons are on backorder
 clip of my marines getting blown up "for the cause" : click things have gone crazy now - this will be over one way or the other very very soon. one of my lone grunts backed himself up into a corner to face down three drones, which didn't go at all well for him my other grunt is critically wounded and playing hide-and-seek with drones and the queen in the ruins of the central building. meanwhile, elsewhere, i've got two snipers and a medic trying to provide covering fire for each other and a trigger-happy nader (sans jam) got a reasonable amount of ammo but not enough small arms, and i've lost track of drones so am expecting encirclement. this is can't-look tense. |

i'm not sure i'll be holding it much longer: my nerves won't be able to take many more games like that.
i'll post my side of the matches up, as long as my opponents don't mind, when i get knocked out. final score was 20-12, the 12th point being me blowing up my own HQ just on the end of the final (11th) turn to try and smoke a drone out, and knock some walls down to improve my sight lines. i managed to befuddle his queen a couple of times  most fun i've had playing LSN for a while. |

dear oh dear! It all went horribly wrong quite rapidly for the teeth-and-fangs brigade

we (me and Mr E) only played the one game: it'd be a nightmare to organise a belt around pairs of games, haha.
i don't have the games i played against csiphon any more, unfortunately i'll see about putting my wholegame up after fuzzy's deployed. and oi! leave my winnings alone! *shakes fist* |

I've uploaded my whole game of Round 1 into the game archive for posterity's sake.
Interesting point of this having the same map and races is that successive challengers should have more and more examples of succesfull and failed deployments and strategies to check out. Can't wait to see the first 20-splatter deployment |

Alright all. My initial idea just never looked good. I began to despair. Then, as more of a lark than anything, I splashed this on there and when I looked at it shrunk down I thought... hmmm... it sure is different...
Let me know what people think. I am open to suggestions and comments but bear in mind I am somewhat of a photoshop neophyte and thus can't actually wield all the power at my disposal. In general, I try for a strong symbol that is unlike other medals out there.    These are the only ones I've made. When we're (or basically, stx) is happy, then I'll crank them all out.
