I'm no good a the strategy behind maps so was hoping for some help from the community.
I could do with 10 maps that are 4 race balanced & 3 that are skewed towards each specific race, so that's 22 in all.
Ta in advance.

I'm after a list of maps that are balanced for all 4 races and a few that are skewed towards each specific race.

English Suburb always seemed to me to be balanced. A lot depends on the points though -- are these all 20-pointers? In which case, English Suburb, but in a 25-point or 30-pointer I would say it's slightly biased towards Machina.
Restaurant is balanced for all 4 factions. I like to think that Facility is, though I've not used Greys on it, and I'm not an expert with Greys, so I find it hard to say for certain. I would say that Genesis is fairly well-balanced. Gladiator isn't far off. Possibly Infiltration, Armoury, Danger Room, The Office, and Compound? I dunno. It's very tough to find maps that are specifically balanced to favour one faction only. There are several well-known ones that favour Greys (though I don't think you should use High Command or Labs -- they favour Greys way too much; Bank Job may be OK though), but there aren't really maps that massively other favour specific factions. That said, though, probably Attrition for Marines, and Tarantula for Spawn. I would say Tangle is slightly Spawn-favoured too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

@Indri - it's certainly looking more doable than last time I attempted it, I'm working on a script to draw the map for me atm, I'll be writing a test page this w/e to fudge + randomise some player data, then a script to draw the turn maps. Once I've got that working, I'll upload it, for feedback.
@Ian - I'd like to base the premise of 'balanced' maps against even points, but I plan to have BfE3 be shorter game turns, but your surviving points carry over (+ points gained back from resources) SO most games will be uneven points. |

English suburb is definitely balanced. It is a problem because as already said, balance changes depending on force points.
Cursed houses is reasnably balanced. Italy is as well even if I dont like the games it produces. Robin hood is balanced on 20 points, I think schools out and battle royale are as well. |

Crossroads ! The good old classic I haven't played in over a year, but it's certainly balanced

I'm not convinced that Crossroads is balanced for either Spawn vs Marines, or Spawn vs Machina. It's too easy to missile/grenade spam the only two vaguely covered approaches.

crossroads is awful for machina from green vs marines or greys from blue. the blue's bunkers are just all too solid, non-windowed

I'd say have a look over at the Alliance site, the maps they use should be balanced enough.
How's this coming along? |
