Forgive me if this strikes as being a little strange (or if it has been suggested before), but would it be possible to adjust the game so that a multi-race force could be deployed? I'd love to see how this may work (keeping their regular properties, so that an AI could only heal other Machina, Marines could only reload if you deployed their HQ, etc.).

This have been done, but not as smoothly as this. There's a mod somewhere where some marine and mech units are combined. They however can heal/fix eachothers units and reload from the common HQ.

I believe Fuzzywinker said in the multiplayer game threads that it is possible to have mixed-race multiplayer games using the mods he's been testing and developing for the multiplayer matches. It would be limited to two races, however, I believe. Still, it would be fun to play, say, marines accompanied by a few tanks!
