Despite having a couple of breaks from LSN in the past I always came back, and as such never wrote a Redeemesque message to announce my departure, only to return a few months later.
The thing that has kept me going the past couple of years is the comeraderie amongst the people here ( despite the total lack of Codo support) , and that is what I am going to miss most ( not the Codo bit), especially as the 8 Bit Fanatics are probably going to fold. We have had a hoot in the forum there, especially in the past when there were normally 6-8 of us. In fact to me Alliance has been the main incentive for staying around so long. I am sure a lot of you know, but if not, I confess to writing the infamous The Cutter column, which was probably far 'too British' in it's dry sarcasm for some people. In reality it was intended as a jokey take on the season, and also to 'thank' the admins & captains of each team for their work in organising the whole thing. The majority of the namechacks were always those people, with an occasional nod to the other players.
So in no particular order I would like to thank the following players - Nimzomitch, Rye, Cobalt66,Laserburn,DaveB,Redeem,Lego Pirate - for their sheer 8 Bitted-ness!!!
Smart Bunny, LV426,Brootal and Fatboy for a good laugh as the Cursed Clowns. SB also gets a special mention for her Alliance work, and her Cyborg league work ( even though we never got medals, pahh )
Oddball and Indricotherium for their zany humour during games, and OB's inability to write anything that ever made sense to anyone.
General Strike for his superb running of the Alliance, IMHO the best Alliance mod ever, well joint best, with Quick Ben
SpacemanSpiff for the two alliance games in which he mullered me, chat was fun though !
Ian Sturrock for the epic spawn battles.
Flash Panach for the epic Alliance battles and chat.
Worto for the HQ league and his saucer fleets.
lsngoblin for being..well lsngoblin.
Of course my RL mate General Specific for losing something like 20 games in a row against me.
Then going back even further in time, the Faceless Consortium, namely GuiltyCol, Endgame, DeadDog ans sdellboy of course for a damn good laugh.

Real shame to read this DA (and Rye too). I've always wondered how
our Alliance game would have panned out if we hadn't both changed the way we would have played because the result was crucial to the match!
