Here is another interesting Marine vs Grey battle - a specialist league clash in which the races were set:

So, I will repeat what I have said in the past - I like greys. I like their quirky abilities. I like the way they break rules which the other races adhere to. I think they fit very nicely with the overall character of the game. I think the balance between greys and other races is as good as you likely to get. This makes me a minority, but in addition to my own subjective views I think it would be foolish to make any major changes to greys or any of the races, as the balance is good and changing things risks messing that up.

In several ways, I like the greys too. Sure, they're very much different from the other races with their strange gizmoes, but still I think they fit in
pretty well too. Isn't spawn very different too, and still nobody complains about them? (btw I like spawn very much)
Only problem I can see in greys still is that they are new enough that most of people hasn't managed to adapt their techniques against them yet. And as often the case is, what they don't understand completely they "fear" and "dislike" it. Oh, and I don't like to play against the greys either, mainly because I'm still the crappest of all the races in it! |

I don't agree with your assessment of the problem, Jaques. How long ago was it that greys came out???? 3 years or something like that. I don't think
anyone can hide behind the novelty tag these days. However, I do think that they are the hardest race to master and this applies to playing with them or
against them. Thus, the reason why some of the people who dislike grey, dislike them, is as you say the 'fear/dislike' factor.

The thing I tried to say that because people don't play against/with them that much, they never get the experience that they need to get out of the novelty
area. What you say about the hardest race, that is true. They are very weak race in th hands of an unexperienced player, but in the hands of a master, they are
deadly as hell. Same goes playing against them, but in lesser extremes.

I had a thought about greys. I think when you get psyched you should see where the psyker is, maybe see what the psyker sees. This would make things less
annoying, and require people to use them more carefully.
