Ideally we should have the hidden forums opened up [which means that the players should go through their threads now and remove any personal information that they'd not want us to see], and some discussion on the game from the participants - and outside observers.
Then we can see what would be useful to try next.



I'd be keen to run a game with VERY short turns, spread over a weekend perhaps, but unless you're able to automate things this would mean that you'd have quite a busy couple of days!
Or maybe something where we have two teams of 10+ players, each with only a unit or two, and a strictly enforced one-turn-per-night schedule.
(so if you know you won't be able to put a turn in for a day or two, hide your unit somewhere safe!)
Would it be a lot more work for you to manage lots of players?

Not sure how many people would be interested in playing more, we should find out (and see what people would enjoy the most)

I'll put my thinking cap back on tomorrow if you like, and see if I can come up with any more ideas -- far too tired tonight, though!

questions for fuzzy:

1) you said that it would be possible to have two race mixed deployments. from an order-giving point of view, would one team-member be able to command units from different races, or would they have to be split up?

2) from a deployment point of view, how manageable is such a mixed force for a single player? would you have to do two sets of deployments for a player who takes a mixed load out, and combine them? could this be automated so that a player "buys" FP in a certain race, and then gets sent their deployment file with adjusted numbers?

3) am i correct in thinking that if a player misses putting their orders in, they need to be sent a Wholegame file?



questions for people in general (and fuzzy in an "is this do-able" kind of way):

which of the following scenarios sound like fun?

panzer rampage
30 FP match, 7 players per side. one AI or MT each. 2 HQs deployed by nominated team captain.
match to be played over a month or so, one turn per day.
private forum discussion area for each team.

mechanized infantry
option 1) 25 FP match, each player has 5FP (5 players per side)
option 2) 30 FP, each player agrees before deployment how many FP but maximum 10 (3-6 players per side)
free choice between all machina and marine units for all players
match to be played over a month or so, one turn per day.
private forum discussion area for each team.

iron man
4FP per player, marines only. total FP decided by number of players interested.
match to be played over two consecutive days, turns every 15 minutes.
(deploy the week before, game begins at an agreed time, runs for 4 hours per night = 16 turns per night)
private chat room for each team
