Posts: 2587 30-Jan-06 23:34 Pure Animal Magnetism	Tags : None In this first screenshot I'm about to explode the splatter in the bottom left. The selected Buzzer in the top right has 3 health and is hidden far away behind some intact wall. The second screenshot is taken after Test orders. The buzzer is now at 2 health. The splatter managed to damage it at that distance through a wall! The same thing happened when I got the turn back from the server, so its not a Test Orders oddity.... In case anyone technical wants to look at it it was game number 190931. RM ----------------------------- Need some training? Visit a Field Instructor -----------------------------

The buzzer was in the same location. I thought walls gave some kind of screening protection against explosives...? RM ----------------------------- Need some training? I thought that walls screen off the explosive effect, unless its powerful enough to destroy the wall. ----------------------------- Need some training? Posts: 5409 31-Jan-06 10:49 Tori Fan	i seem to remember someone (probably Tharg) making a post where units behind trees and other cover got damaged while the cover wasn't taken down, because the damage wasn't enough to do so... but that was cover that damage could pass around. in this case, assuming there's not a "missing wall" you can't see, i'd have thought that the wall should have stopped it too. shrapnel and blast damage doesn't reflect in LSN, as far as i'm aware, either.

Posts: 3450 2-Feb-06 18:05 BeltBoy	It's go to be a bug of some sort. The Buzzer took about the damage that I would expect if there wasn't a wall. However walls DO provide protection and SHOULD have protected your Buzzer. So it's a bug. (or a damaged Buzzer)

Posts: 6046 14-Feb-06 04:10 Budda on an anthill	This just happened to me in my failed bit to stop LastBullet from retiring the Featherweight Belt. I detonated a Splatter late in the game that damaged 2 Spikers (1 fatally) that were inside a building some distance away without affecting the walls. Being the freewheeling guy I am, I justified it as shrapnel penetrating the wall but I sure could have used those 2 health points! Both sides of the game are up on the LGA. LSN:Indricotherium, GMT-5, League:Elite, Alliance:Doomed, Specialist:L.O.G. Challenges: Against my better judgement, will be accepted (L or F) as long as they are at least 30 days.
