Posts: 1878 27-Sep-02 21:53 Grand Daddy of Grenades	Update: Turn 7, Crank leads Halforc 10-7. Our initial meeting left the score with Halforc leading 5 to 4 Since then it's been sort of a standoff with his Commanders and Grenadiers keeping my Grenadiers out of range while my Snipers were manuvoring for a shot. I lost two Grenadiers trying to get them into range - both to Halforc's great grenade work. One was killed entering a building when he met Halforc's grenade coming out the same door - kick - BOOM!. Halforc had blown the doors off with one grenade and then sent the other one straight through and hit my Grenadier on the foot. Meanwhile I saw a Commander flanking around to assault a bunker I was holding - so I left a four-grenade present in his path and nailed him. I also managed to win a Sniper duel and kill his badly wounded Medic with a Grenade. He's down two Commanders, a Sniper, A Medic and I think a Grunt. I'm down two Grenadiers, two Grunts and something else. It's anybody's game right now - It's hard to keep track of anyone on this map. Next time I play this one I'll try a different approach. Initially I rushed towards his corner to gain as much ground as possible. The problem is fighting diagonally on this map is a real pain. I'd rather dig in sooner and try to engage horizontally where the grenade ranges work out better, there's better fire lanes, and you can move around easier. Kudos to Halforc for a fascinating game. Posts: 2388 28-Sep-02 13:17 Halfbiscuit	Update: turn 8 is in and I am cornered, great nading' and hopefully commander will catch Crank unawares. Lost yet another sniper v sniper duel, never have won one yet, my snipers always miss first shot. Score unimportant but it is 7-12 to my opponent.

Posts: 2388 30-Sep-02 18:14 Halfbiscuit	managed to lose a grunt on turn 10. luckily the timer ran out before my medic lost his life also. turn 11 my commander had intuition and left her position in time to save herself from a nade through the open front of the pill box now turning into a last stand. losing 13-7 still early days yet. Posts: 1878 1-Oct-02 17:29 Grand Daddy of Grenades	Update: Turn 14, Crank wins 20-7. My Grunt ambushed his Medic last turn. This turn I caught his Commander on the move with a Grenadier, Grunt, and Sniper, with the Sniper getting in the killing blow (while my Grunt fired off a couple of warning shots). Good game! Very tense, especially at first when it seemed like Halforc was anticipating my moves. Ambushing his second Commander seemed to be the turning point, since that gave me some freedom to move around without the spectre of one shot kills hanging over my head. Looking forward to playing my next match against Purplechest. Let me just check the League ratings..... Holy crap!!! -------------------------------------------------- Grunts spot. Grenades kill.
