This thread is designed to serve a number of different purposes.
Firstly, people that would be interested in playing can make themseles noticed.
Secondly, we can discuss how the first season is going/went and if this suggests any changes should be made before season two.
Thirdly we can choose new maps, discuss how the divisions will be set up, and so on.
So!
Observations from Season One
- 30FP counted as deployed for a default win.
This was intended to be a deterrent so that people would avoid defaulting, however it has meant that players who come in to substitute full time have hardly any reserves left. I think that next season it should be changed to 20FP.
- Timescale / Game Load.
Are people happy with how many games they play, and how often? In terms of tweaking the deployment specifications (FP, bonus at the end of the season, etc.) it'd be simplest to keep things the way they are with matches a month and a half apart, and six players in a division.
However this could be changed, if there's a good reason to do so.
If we stick with the six-player divisions, then again it will make for two matches against the same player in the middle round. How did people enjoy playing that this time around?
Maps
In keeping with a similar set up as far as racial balance and map character across the season, I'm proposing the following maps.
Month One: Dust or Middle Of Nowhere
Round Two: Factory
Round Three: Desolation
Round Four: Outpost or Stronghold
Round Five: Bad Neighborhood or ...?
Suggestions are welcome.
Perhaps we could have a map-making competition to create a new map for the final round!
Divisions
Depending on how many existing or new players wish to take part in the next season, we could end up with one, two, or mabe even three divisions. As ever, the question is whether to allocate players to divisions at random or to place players according to their performance in the first season.
Lots to think about that I've not even mentioned here too, of course. But that'll do for starters.
