The maps' playing surfaces are entirely level, leaving out the tactical fun of going for/taking/holding high ground for sight and lobbing range advantages. I can't help but think that levels of elevation and maybe even the odd thing like raised platforms or small towers would add extra combat realism (maybe longevity and more telling map variations) without changing the core flow of the game. I thought maybe even make climbing inclines slow units' moving speed by a tiny amount, and vice versa.
If there were things like platforms there would need to be extra sight/display options so units don't get lost... would that alone make it too much work for anyone (assuming LSN ever gets major new features?) Multilevel buildings and more dramatic indoor firefights , ambushes in streets from high windows on either side etc.
Ever been discussed?
